DL News attaches the highest importance to accuracy and rigour. But we recognise that mistakes can be made, however hard we try to avoid them. Our editorial policy is to correct all errors promptly and transparently.
If an article or tabulated data contains a factual error, DL News will correct it as soon as we are aware of it. There is no time limit to corrections. They must be made even weeks after the mistake. Readers will be informed of the correction through a note placed at the end of the text or table. The note will explain why and when the correction was made.
If our editors agree that a published article requires, clarification, it will be amended. In such cases, a note will be placed at the end of the text to indicate what has changed and when the change was made.
Articles often need to be updated with fresh information or data. When this happens, we inform our readers, usually with a short note to say that the new article replaces an earlier one.
If information has come to light which substantially alters the story, a note will be placed at the end of the article to make that clear to the reader.
Push notifications are the most immediate way for DL News to inform readers of last-minute changes to a story. If such a notification contains a factual error, it will immediately be corrected.
Any corrections and updates made to texts published on the DL News website must also be made to content posted on social networks.
Exceptional circumstances require DL News to delete material it has already published; a full explanation will be given to readers.
We will give complaints the consideration they deserve and will answer them whenever possible.
If our articles mention people or companies by name, we will do our best to contact them for comment before publication. If this is not possible, we will give them the right of reply. But that right is not absolute. The editor-in-chief of DL News has the final say on what we publish.
We will not give space to those who peddle fake news, conspiracy theories, hatred, incitement to violence or propaganda.
